The countdown is on for our 2024 Herrendorf Family Foundation Education and Leadership Conference, in Los Angeles, California! From May 16th to May 19th, we have an amazing weekend planned for you all, full of personal and professional development, networking and mentorship and celebration! Below you will find out details related to the conference, and we look forward to seeing you all in May.

Get ready to enjoy sunshine in the City of Angels!

The conference will be taking place at the W Hollywood, located at 6250 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA 90028.

You will be sharing a two-queen bed room with one of your fellow scholars, and we encourage you to connect if you have not already!

Please ensure that all outfits are appropriate, meaning no short skirts or shorts, revealing shirts or inappropriate footwear.


Flight Info

If you have not yet received your booking confirmation and flight information email, please reply to this email as soon as possible. You are expected to check into your flight 24 hours in advance and be prompt for your flight (we recommend arriving at the airport up to 2 hours prior to your flight if you are checking a bag).

If there are any changes to your flight itinerary, departure or return locations, or an emergency that requires you to change your flight, please contact Corey Hardiman as soon as possible.

DISNEYLAND Bag Policy & Size Restrictions
Disneyland has a bag policy in place to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests. Here are the main points to be aware of:

  • Bag size: Bags, backpacks, and purses must not exceed the dimensions of 24″ long x 15″ wide x 18″ high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm).

  • Coolers: Coolers larger than 6-pack size are not permitted, and cooler restrictions may vary for special events.

  • Bag inspection: All bags are subject to inspection upon entry to the park, and you may be asked to open your bag for a security check.

Prohibited Items


To maintain a safe and family-friendly environment, certain items are not allowed inside Disneyland:

  • Weapons: Firearms, ammunition, knives, and any other weapons are strictly prohibited.

  • Large tripods and selfie sticks: Tripods that can’t fit inside a backpack and selfie sticks are not allowed.

  • Glass containers: Glass containers, except for small containers such as baby food jars, are not permitted.

  • Alcohol: Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the park.

  • Folding chairs: Folding chairs are not permitted, except for mobility aids and medical devices.

OCTAVIA GOREDEMA is an award-winning career coach, author and founder who guides professionals to unleash their full potential at work. Octavia is the CEO and founder of Fire Memos, an app that empowers employees to record and recognize their work accomplishments. An acclaimed career expert, Octavia is the author of PREP, PUSH, PIVOT: Essential Career Strategies for Underrepresented Women and the host of the Audible Original series, How to Change Careers with Octavia Goredema. Octavia’s insights have been featured in Fast Company, CNN, Fortune, CNBC, Forbes, Business Insider, Inc, Newsweek, Los Angeles Times, Yahoo, The Guardian, Grazia magazine, and Black Enterprise, among others. Octavia is a regular contributor to Harvard Business Review. During the pandemic, Octavia co-hosted and produced HBR Now, Harvard Business Review’s weekly show about leadership. Originally from England, Octavia was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) by the Queen in recognition of her work. Octavia is based in Los Angeles where she has lived for over a decade.

3. Effective Social Graces/Dining Etiquette

As we’re exposed to different social settings, it’s key to have the tools to successfully navigate these spaces. During this engaging lunch session Ms. Aisha will deliver a hands-on learning experience providing techniques and takeaways you will be able to apply to your next business lunch, networking event, formal dinner or social gathering.

Aisha Steele was born in Nashville, Tennessee. Raised in Olathe, Kansas.  University of Kansas graduate. Former  Kansas City Chiefs cheerleader. I've been hosting or teaching in some form or fashion my whole life.  My passion is helping.  I consult and support people, companies and organizations to find better intention, diversity and inclusion in their events and overall life. I make it easy to find the right people to make your experience authentic and joyful in celebrating from the standpoint of inclusion.  From panel discussions, corporate events, team builders, dance classes, travel planning, cooking classes, cocktail lessons, gift and swag bags,  or curating dialogue that keeps your event or function lively.   It's my life.   

You will see most of it with an intentional focus on social activism. Taking a second to be kind or a moment to be intentional about how you support, we can make a change.

LinkedIn is the leading and largest professional networking site that helps manage your professional identity, build and engage with your professional network to access knowledge, insights and opportunities.

With 15 years of work experience in consumer business development, marketing, and entrepreneurship, Mike Ellis is currently the lead for growth initiatives and product integrations for the Microsoft + LinkedIn partnership. In this role, I leverage my skills in business development, marketing strategy, and partnerships to create innovative solutions that enhance the value proposition and user experience of both ecosystems. 

Previously, Mike Ellis was the Director and Global Business Development and Partnerships at Tinder, where I led user acquisition, retention, and revenue generation partnerships with various partners across 196 markets and 40 languages. Mike Ellis also co-founded Lyfe Jewelry, an online platform focused on fine jewelry, sustainably packaged and sourced from recycled materials. Prior to Tinder, Ellis spent 5 years at Apple leading brand-oriented growth partnerships for both their hardware and subscription business across a variety of industries & geographies. His core competencies include international growth, product integrations, brand partnerships, customer acquisition and retention, market expansion, and revenue optimization. 

Mike Ellis is passionate about building and nurturing strategic relationships that create mutual value and impact for both parties. Ellis holds an MBA from the University of Florida, a postgraduate certificate in digital marketing from New York University, and a certificate in Japanese language proficiency. Ellis is an avid ultimate frisbee player, gamer, traveler, runner, and dog dad.

With 8 years of work experience in sales, account management, and business development,  Marion Radu is a passionate and driven professional who thrives on delivering value to my customers and helping them achieve their talent goals.

As a Senior Account Director at LinkedIn, Radu manages the account strategy and relationship with existing mid-market customers, collaborating with a cross-functional account team of solutions experts, customer success managers, account executives, and technical support to deliver value and find solutions for our customers' challenges.
