• Kasondra Herrendorf-Cohen

    CEO

    Born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Canada, Kasondra Cohen-Herrendorf is a third-generation philanthropist, VP and CEO of Herrendorf Family Foundation Inc., and founder and CEO of Face of Today Foundation. Learning from her own mental health journey, and experiencing the sudden loss of her father Hershel Herrendorf, Kasondra dedicated herself to impact work, building international non-profit programs that focus on wrap-around support, scholarships and bursaries. Through her trust-based grant-making and stewardship, new programs are addressing social gaps while supporting young leaders and families facing barriers. As a result, students and families can thrive through both educational opportunities and meaningful social and community engagement. Becoming CEO at HFF in 2019, Kasondra's change-making leadership enabled her to proudly facilitate over 3.5 million USD in giving and direct program development. These efforts have impacted the offerings of partner organizations like Oprah Winfrey Charitable Foundation, FIDF, Chicago Bulls Charities, Chicago White Sox Ace Program, Born This Way Foundation, and more. She has also successfully overseen the development and opening of community-based resource centres in Haifa, Israel and Vancouver, Canada.

  • Tanya Slingsby

    CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

    Tanya Slingsby is driven to achieve HFF's mission through research, sound strategy, and efficient, lean funding leadership. Committed to giving back and realizing the Herrendorf family's philanthropic vision, she seeks and establishes opportunities while driving solid decision-making for deeper grant making impact. With 6 years of senior positions in the nonprofit sector, 19 years in private business, and 16 years in community-engaged program management, Tanya is a seasoned leader with diverse expertise. She received an MA in Aesthetics and Art History on a Rotary Ambassador Scholarship at the University of Sussex, UK, and a BA Hons. in Liberal Arts on full scholarship at the University of Victoria. She also pursued Pacific Rim Studies at Simon Fraser University on scholarship. Tanya is a visual artist with a 20 year practice creating abstract art and sculpture. She advocates for human rights, especially in the LGBTQSIA+ community. For fun, she loves art, travel, fitness, and dancing.

  • Corey Hardiman

    VICE PRESIDENT, STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS & OPERATIONS

    Corey Hardiman serves as the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & Operations. He champions all of our programming and day-to-day international operations here at Herrendorf. Family Foundation.

    Mr. Hardiman, also teaches as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Education at Truman College. He has an extensive background in public education. Before joining the Foundation, he served as the Director of Special Projects at Truman College. In this capacity, he led the Supporting Emerging Educators Development program, which trains future educators and functions as a pipeline for the Chicago Public Schools system (CPS), the third-largest school district in the country at that time. Mr. Hardiman also served in various other roles within CPS K-12 schools, notably as Dean of Students, College and Career Counselor, and for a Charter school district as Director of College Counseling.

    Mr. Hardiman is a Bill & Melinda Gates Scholar and an alumnus of Morehouse College, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in American Government. After Morehouse, he earned a Master’s in Urban Education Curriculum and Policy from Concordia University.

  • Tanya Lieb

    DIRECTOR, BRANDING AND MARKETING

    Tanya Lieb graduated with a degree in Communications, majoring in Marketing and Publishing. Tanya’s love for writing, digital creation and giving back has broadened her work experience from Vancouver, Canada, to Seattle, Washington, and Orange County, California. Starting in her youth, Tanya became highly motivated to give back to her community by working as a mentor and volunteer with notable not-for-profit organizations including Face of Today Foundation, BC Pets and Friends, HEROS Hockey, Variety Children’s Charity, and The Canadian Cancer Society. Currently, Tanya is the Director of Branding and Marketing for Herrendorf Family Foundation and is responsible for expanding the brand’s digital foothold, creative campaigns, website management and graphic design. Tanya brings not only her creative savvy, but a passion for providing youth with access to resources, education and programming, regardless of their socio-economic background.

  • Lachelle Metcalf

    SENIOR DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS

    Lachelle Metcalf is the Senior Director of Programs at Herrendorf Family Foundation. A mission-driven, compassionate and visionary leader, Lachelle has enthusiastically supported students, families and educators within nonprofit, government and education sectors for nearly 20 years. From community engagement and special education advocacy to event planning and marketing/communications, Lachelle has dedicated her life’s work to helping and inspiring others. Lachelle received her BA from Hampton University (Hampton, VA) and MA from Catholic University of America (Washington, DC). She also completed Master’s level coursework in School Counseling at Mercer University. Lachelle is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) School Site Council. She also serves as a volunteer consultant with The Acceleration Project, providing guidance and resources to under-resourced small businesses, particularly those owned by women and People of Color. Lachelle currently resides in the Los Angeles area with her husband and children.

  • Dori-Anna Tomei

    SENIOR DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS & CENTRE MANAGEMENT (CANADA)

    Dori-Anna Tomei is the Senior Director of Programs & Centre Management (Canada) at Herrendorf Family Foundation.  After obtaining her BA from Simon Fraser University and completing a successful career in law for over 17 years, she pivoted her vocation to further her commitment in making a genuine and lasting impact on future generations. Recognizing the importance of community engagement, she has dedicated a significant portion of her life volunteering in the Britannia community, providing support and guidance to marginalized and vulnerable youth to help break the cycle of disadvantage. Motivated by a deep sense of empathy and a desire to bring access to those with special needs, Dori-Anna has coupled her love of sport and supporting those with cognitive and physical disabilities by leading the Vancouver chapter of the SuperHEROS Hockey Program at UBC.  Her volunteer efforts stand as a testament to the belief that true success is measured not only by professional achievement, but also by the lasting impact one has on the lives of others.

    EXECUTIVE MANAGER OF FINANCE AND SYSTEMS

    Carlos Sibaja is driven by a deep commitment to empowering individuals and communities. He focuses on alternative child care and youth development. He believes in the transformative power of education and the opportunity to unlock potential and create lasting change. This passion has shaped his career across Latin America, where he has worked with diverse groups to tackle social challenges, advocate for children’s rights, and develop initiatives that foster growth and resilience.

    With expertise in governance, strategic planning, and data analysis, Carlos blends practical knowledge with a passion for innovation. He holds an MBA in Human Resources and began a Postgraduate Diploma in Data Analytics at Douglas College in Canada in 2023, bridging his management experience with a growing interest in data-driven solutions. Known for his collaborative approach, Carlos thrives in multicultural environments and values building connections with others. Outside work, he enjoys basketball, exploring the mountains, and embracing the "Pura Vida" spirit in every aspect of life.

    As a passionate advocate for education, empowerment, and generational resilience, I work with like minded charities that strategically partner with global change leaders. With a degree in fashion merchandising and marketing from the Art Institute of Chicago, my background in digital marketing and social media campaigns allows me to create innovative, high-impact strategies. I am dedicated to crafting meaningful campaigns and fostering valuable relationships that drive positive change on a global scale.

    Norm Flynn has been working in lower mainland communities for over 20 years. He truly understands the importance of creating opportunities for success, and founded HEROS Hockey in Canada. Hockey Education Reaching Out Society (HEROS) is a volunteer driven charity that teaches life skills and empowers marginalized youth through hockey.

    Justin Borsato has been teaching in Vancouver’s inner city for almost 20 years. He is passionate about education and providing his students with opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. He is the first recipient of the 2012 UBC teacher of the year award and completed his Master of Education in Urban Learning.
